The Ubiquitous Computing Research Lab (Ubicomp Lab) at Marquette University investigates how mobile, wearable, and ambient computing can improve human health and well-being. Our work spans mobile sensing, machine learning, signal processing, and human-centered design, with an emphasis on translational research that reaches patients and clinicians.
Focus areas
- Non-invasive physiological monitoring (HR, SpO2, glucose, creatinine, white blood cell count) using smartphone sensors and remote photoplethysmography.
- Mobile health applications for autism spectrum disorder, pre-term infant care, and remote patient monitoring.
- Applied machine learning, including quantum machine learning and large language model integration for healthcare.
- Brain-computer interfaces and eye-blink based assistive technology.
Collaboration
The lab partners with Marquette's Pediatric Movement & Neuroscience Lab, clinicians at academic medical centers, and industry labs. Our research is supported by NIH, NSF, and Marquette University.
